Become a Supporter

Like Pooh Bah, NTP will accept refreshment at any hands, however lowly. For your donation you will receive a receipt for a tax deduction, a mention in the program, the gratitude of all of us, and the priceless positive feelings one gets from supporting the arts.

Membership in the North Toronto Players

NTP is a non-profit, charitable organization with membership open to all in the community who share an interest in bringing vocal music and musical theatre to a wide audience for a reasonable price.

All members of the cast are required to be members of North Toronto Players. The annual fee is a donation of $150.00, which is tax deductible.

Chorus Roles

Participation in the chorus is open to everyone, 16 years of age or older, with an interest in musical theatre. While our need for male tenors is great, we are always happy to welcome sopranos, altos and basses to our group — especially when they bring their tenor friends along.

Currently there is no audition required for chorus members, but you must be willing to memorize and perform musicand simple choreography. You also are expected to attend all rehearsals – which begin with three-hour sessions on Monday nights in September, build to include full-day Saturday rehearsals beginning in January, and then finish with a final production week of evening rehearsals just prior to the show in March.
We also rely greatly on our cast to help out with things like set construction and marketing. No experience is necessary, but participation is greatly appreciated. Rehearsals from September through December take place at the Edithvale Community Centre (on Finch, a couple of blocks west of Yonge Street).

Lead Roles

Auditions for principal roles are generally held in late September or early October. Candidates will audition before the Stage Director, the Music Director and members of the North Toronto Players audition panel.

Audition times are arranged with the Audition Coordinator. If you are unable to attend your scheduled audition, please notify the coordinator as early as possible and we may be able to reschedule.

Click here to email about auditions.

Please fill in the attached form and bring it with you to the audition with your headshot and resume. You may also send a copy of your resume in advance, via email.

If callbacks are necessary, you will be notified of the dates and available times by phone or email.

When you contact us about an audition we will direct you to the music appropriate to the part you are auditioning for; however, if you are unable to prepare the suggested piece, please bring music for an alternate piece appropriate to your voice type and experience.

All candidates will be asked to read for the Directors. Selected readings will be provided at the audition.
